Year 11 and new Sixth Form applicants will be emailed and encouraged to apply for the Gold award if they have previously completed at least one of the earlier awards (Bronze or Silver) or the International Award. Due to the difficulty of the navigation and expedition side of the award, direct entry is generally inappropriate. Individual cases with significant walking and navigating experience may be considered.

External Candidates.   If you are joining our Academy in the next year and wish to be considered for a DofE place then please contact Mrs Greenfield jgreenfield@prioryacademies.co.uk as soon as possible so that you can be included in the application process. This includes existing DofE participants moving to this school.

The Gold Award will costs £350 (this includes all training, expeditions and loan equipment) and candidates will be required to commit to 12 Thursday evening training sessions from 3.30 – 5pm and three 4 day expeditions (a training, practice and the qualifier) and a 1 week residential course. This is in addition to their individual section commitments for 12 – 18 months.
