Wellbeing & SMSC Curriculum Overview

At Ruskin, we aim to give students the information they need to make good decisions about their own wellbeing, to recognise issues in themselves and others, and to seek support as early as possible when issues arise. We also encourage students to explore spiritual, moral, social and cultural issues through our PD curriculum.

  • Spiritual: Encourage students to explore and respect beliefs and values, to enjoy learning about oneself and others in the surrounding world and to use their imagination and creativity
  • Moral: Enable our students to recognise right and wrong; respect the law; understand consequences; investigate moral and ethical issues and to offer reasoned views.
  • Social: Encourage students to utilise a range of social skills, to participate in the local community, to appreciate diverse viewpoints and to resolve conflicts
  • Cultural: To give students the opportunity to appreciate cultural influences, to participate in culture opportunities and to understand, accept, respect and celebrate diversity.
