The Priory Ruskin Academy will admit up to 21 students in Year 7 on the basis of their aptitude for Sport or the Visual Arts. Parents who wish to seek a place at the Academy for their child based on aptitude for Sport or Visual Arts should present their child for assessment.  

Details regarding the next aptitude test for Year 5 students (looking to join in September 2023) will be shared here shortly. 

Y5 Assessment Date for Visual Arts:

Visual Arts portfolio submissions should be handed in to the academy Main Reception by 7th July (along with the aptitude application form).   

Visual Arts portfolio must be collected by parents on either Wed 13^th and Thursday 14^th July.

Y5 Assessment Dates for Sport:

• Tuesday 12th July       

• Wednesday 13th July 

• Thursday 14th July      

A portfolio is NOT required for the Sport aptitude assessment.

Please complete the on-line aptitude assessment form by Friday 1st July in order to book a slot.   Aptitude application forms are available from Ruskin main reception.

Arrangements for the Aptitude assessment

If you would like your child to participate in one of the aptitude assessments, please complete an Aptitude application form and return it to the academy (Main Reception).     

Taking the assessment is not an application in itself;  assessments will only be considered when the Local Authority's Common Application Form has been received by the LA and the Academy has been notified, confirming that an application has been made.
