NATIONAL SCIENCE WEEK AT THE PRIORY RUSKIN ACADEMY 2015

During the week commencing 16th March 2015,  The Priory Ruskin Academy took part in National Science week; a national event for primary and secondary schools across England.  The Academy ran a wide range of events including launching a weather balloon into space to take photos of the solar eclipse and monitor the weather conditions at high altitude.  Year 7 and 8 students all competed within their science lessons to win a star gazing telescope by creating a project unique to them.  Other students within the school carried out some biological sampling in conjunction with the University of Nottingham conservation team.  Various guest speakers from across the globe joined the year 9 and 10 students and shared with them some incredible experiences of their careers within the field of science.  In addition, there were field trips, explosions and experiments in assemblies and a chance to meet some creepy crawlies!
