Year 7 French Centre Trip 2015

Year 7 students from The Priory Ruskin Academy have been enjoying some French culture at the `Centre Des Etoiles` based in Normandy, a French residential centre owned by the Priory Federation of Academies.

CULTURAL TRIP FOR YEAR 7 PRIORY RUSKIN STUDENTS

Year 7 students from The Priory Ruskin Academy have been enjoying some French culture as the end of their first year at the Academy begins to draw to a close.   Each year, all Year 7 students get to enjoy an action packed week at the `Centre Des Etoiles` based in Normandy, a French residential centre owned by the Priory Federation of Academies to which The Priory Ruskin Academy belongs.  Students travel in their Academy House groups and, this year, have visited Bayeux, the D Day beaches and Cherbourg’s ‘Le Citè de la Mer’ as well as, of course, practising their French speaking skills and enjoying some of France’s local delicacies!

Mrs Karen Shelford, Head of Knight House, said “It’s great to have access to the Federation’s French Centre.  It gives students a complete change of scenery and access to a wide variety of culture and experiences.  The House system is a central part of The Priory Ruskin Academy and the French trip allows students to get to know their fellow House members better; building a really strong House identity and comradery that will be essential as they move through the school.

In addition to the Year 7 trip to France,  the Academy also runs an Easter revision trip to France for Year 11 students in preparation for their GCSE examinations as well as a Prefect reward trip which takes place on an annual basis in July.
