Year 11 is a vital year in terms of decision making and we ensure our students are fully informed about both local pathways and those further afield as well and being prepared so that applications stand out and they can excel in an interview setting.
Students are supported with post 16 choices. They are encouraged to consider all options (Sixth Form, FE and apprenticeships)
Interview with Careers Leader to further explore and refine aspirations and pathways
Optional access to additional independent and impartial advice
Students are provided with comprehensive details of relevant careers talks, fairs and college/Sixth Form open days to further their understanding of post 16 pathways
Further CV writing and covering letter workshop
Students are kept up to date with post 16 deadlines and open evenings (internal and external).

Online Summer School - Aspiring Journalists
The NCTJ online summer school provides an introduction to journalism for beginners.
There is a video masterclass each week on topics such as news gathering, interviewing skills, media law, sports journalism and broadcasting.
