By Year 9 students are studying their chosen GCSE options and, with a clearer understanding of their strengths and passions, are further refining careers pathways and requirements:
Students reassess their personal strengths with a focus on transferable skills in workshop and one-to-one sessions
A variety of employers are made available to students to broaden knowledge and understanding - workshop sessions relevant to students based on specific areas of interest
Understand the range of options open to them and engage with a range of local business, FE and HE providers
Careers Week - careers quizzes, interesting facts and speakers embedded into curriculum lessons
Students are encouraged to challenge stereotypes within the world of work and traditional job roles through workshops and guest speakers

Online Summer School - Aspiring Journalists
The NCTJ online summer school provides an introduction to journalism for beginners.
There is a video masterclass each week on topics such as news gathering, interviewing skills, media law, sports journalism and broadcasting.
