Performing Arts Students Visit Disneyland Paris
On Monday 30th January, 16 Sixth Form Performing Arts students from The Priory Ruskin Academy set off to Disneyland Paris for three days.

On January 26th, in preparation for Chinese New Year, students enjoyed a taste of Chinese culture. Staff cleverly crafted normal lessons to give a twist of China across the curriculum.
The Priory Ruskin Academy have become the first school in the country to launch the nationally recognised National Baccalaureate at KS3. Aimed at recognising and celebrating students that engage fully with all aspects of Academy life and the wider community, the award is fundamentally built on our very successful Ruskin Respect awards (Aiming High, Learning, Health, Community and Creativity). Students are also required to complete a specific independent learning project and presentation as well as a reading passport, demonstrating engagement in a wide reading programme.
The Priory Ruskin Academy is hosting a charity coffee morning on January 20th to help raise money for The Rotary Club and Action Against Child Slavery.
In line with Ruskin tradition, we are holding a House Competition and collecting Christmas cards in order to raise money for charity, so rememeber not to throw your cards away and bring them into school in the New Year.
Monday 12th December saw Years 7, 8 and 9 join together, in the beautiful setting of St Wulfram’s Church, for the Academy's annual Christmas Carol Service.
On Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th December The Priory Ruskin Academy welcomed choirs from six local primary schools to come together for a Christmas celebration.
The Priory Ruskin Academy will be entering numerous student teams into the Rotary Swimarathon on the 4th February 2017. Students don't have to be the fastest swimmers - just enthusiastic, able to swim a length of the Meres' swimming pool and willing to raise some sponsorship money for a good cause!
Wednesday 30th November saw the return of The Priory Ruskin Academy Festive Evening, signalling the start of the Christmas Period.
As members of the Lincolnshire Children's Book Group, The Priory Ruskin Academy has been made aware of an amazing event that is a must for all Michael Morpurgo fans. Arranged by Waterstones of Boston, Michael Morpurgo, Virginia McKenna and Voices at the Door are performing Michael Morpurgo's book 'The Best Christmas Present In The World' at Boston's St Botolph's Church on Friday 9th December. In The Best Christmas Present in the World, the former Children’s Laureate revisits the trenches to tell the haunting story of Christmas 1914 when soldiers on both sides put down their weapons in honour of Christmas Day. It is certain to be a moving concert for the whole family.
Do you have reading books gathering dust? Students and staff at The Priory Ruskin Academy are currently collecting books to add to the shelves of our wonderful Reading Room.
On Friday 18th November The Priory Ruskin Academy held a special awards ceremony for their Year 8 accelerated learning group who, last summer when they were only in Year 7, successfully completed their AQA GCSE Foundation project at level 1, gaining them the equivalent of half a full GCSE.
