On the evening of 13th July, talented students from the Performing Arts Department participated in the spectacular Summer Review.
The Priory Ruskin Academy has been nationally recognised for its exceptional 2015 performance by the Schools, Students and Teachers network (SSAT). Educational Outcomes data analysis from SSAT has shown that the Academy is in the top 10% of schools nationally for progress made by students between their key stage 2 results at primary school and their key stage 4 results.
On Tuesday 7th June, Year 7 and 8 students had a fantastic morning listening to Californian born author, Robin Stevens, promoting her Murder Most Unladylike series. The first four books, Murder Most Unladylike, Arsenic for Tea, First Class Murder and Jolly Foul Play are all now out in the UK, with her 5th book being released October 2016.
The Priory Ruskin Academy is to host a balloon launch in support of St Barnabas Hospice on Friday June 10th.
Girls at The Priory Ruskin Academy benefitted from a special tennis mentoring visit on Tuesday 3rd May when professional tennis player, Jade Windley, visited the Academy to run coaching sessions throughout the day.
On 4th May 2016, Ben Smith (401 marathon runner) was warmly welcomed into the Academy by staff and students. He has challenged himself to run 401 marathons in 401 consecutive days. The aim is to raise £250,000 for two fantastic charities, ‘Stonewall’ and ‘Kidscape’. Both these charities work tirelessly to combat bullying in our schools and society
Ms Tina Dingley, Corporate Fundraiser for St Barnabas Hospice in Grantham gratefully received a large sum of money that was raised by the Academy students.
On 17th March, the talented Year 12 and 13 BTEC Music students performed in a highly entertaining concert called,` One Last Time`.
On 21st March 2016, 150 Year 7 and 8 students participated in a Performing Arts workshop with the awesome, `Young Americans`.
On 22nd March 2016, the Academy choir performed with the renowned ACM Gospel choir.
Staff and students at The Priory Ruskin Academy have raised over £1500 for Sport Relief this year following a jam-packed day of activities last Friday (18th March).
