In true Ruskin style, Mr Webb did things a little differently this year as he continued his annual endeavour to raise awareness of, and money for, the Movember Foundation. Rather than growing a moustache like many others across the country, Mr Webb decided to draw attention to the one he already has…by asking students to vote for which colour he should dye it! It came as no surprise that the overwhelming majority went for….BRIGHT PINK!
The Academy also held a bake sale, featuring some particularly fantastic pink moustache cupcakes baked by a Ruskin parent, which was well supported as always. Mr Webb said, “Thank you everyone for engaging with this charity, it has important personal significance to me and I really appreciate your generosity. We always have a lot of fun with Movember but there is a really serious side to it all…the Movember Foundation UK tackle some of the biggest health issues faced by men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention so thank you again for supporting”.
