Assessment - KS3

Key Stage 3

From Autumn 2015 students throughout Key Stage 3 will follow the new programmes of study in all subjects.  Students will be given their GCSE Flightpath in each subject. These have been calculated using a student’s Key Stage 2 raw scores.  A subject specific skills framework has been created against each Target Range.  A student’s progress will be tracked against the skills framework during lessons and information regarding progress will be sent home frequently.

Assessing Progress towards Targets

Assessing student progress is embedded in lessons on daily basis. Assessment is manifest in teacher peer and self assessment using a range of classroom strategies. Each module, students will receive a formal assessment of the progress they have made in their learning.

Reporting Progress towards Targets

Progress will be reported 3 times a year in KS3. At Key Stage 3, a progress report will state the Flightpath students are currently attaining in their subjects alongside effort and behaviour grades.  Parents will receive a full written report once a year, and are also invited to parents’ evening and various learning forums for further information.
